Ultrasound blackout blind systems for internal use are both easy to install and operate, and highly efficient. They are particularly suitable for face fixing onto the wall surrounding the window recess, where the clean lines and rounded cassette provide an aesthetically pleasing solution to the room-darkening requirement. The system can also be used for recess fixing, for which alternative side channels are available. All side channels are fitted with a pile weatherstrip to ensure maximum light exclusion. Both systems are quickly and easily fixed by using concealed brackets and fittings and the cassette unit and side channels are then simply clicked into position.

Manual or electric operation is available with Ultrasound Blackout Blind Systems. Manual operation by means of a tape and pulley system is a simple solution that is neat and economic for small areas of glazing up to 2.3 m². For larger windows there is the option of a crank handle control rod connected to a gear box for smooth and easy operation of the blind. Electric operation is available for high level or inaccessible installations and large areas of glazing, or where the blinds need to be grouped and centrally controlled. Blinds can be coupled together and operated by a single motor or gearbox with control rod, and with electric operation several blinds can be coupled to cover an area up to 40 m² controlled by one motor.

Ultrasound blackout blinds are available with a choice of flame retardant blackout fabrics and an important feature of the system is that each fabric has 3mm horizontal steel rods welded into the back at 600 mm intervals. This ensures that the fabric is fully and evenly stretched throughout its width and remains in the side channels even when subjected to a draught of wind.
